Pacific Health Ministry: Lay Ministry Services

Lay Visitation Services

The heart of the Lay Visitation Program is discovering your gifts for visitation and learning to make them available to those who need your assistance. The program provides all participants with visitation skills that enable them to be comfortable and competent in offering visitation to people in many life circumstances and those facing loss.

People living with loss, struggling with illness or injury, or those who find themselves isolated are growing in our communities every day. Congregations and the larger community need people to serve the spiritual and personal needs of people. Working with our staff chaplains, Lay Visitors provide direct spiritual and emotional care.

The program prepares people for visitation and care giving in their own congregation or temple. The following are the topics covered in the class.

Program Support
All the spiritual and emotional care programs of PHM have greater demands for assistance than the staff can provide. For persons whose skills are in coordination of volunteers, event planning, personal assistance, administrative support and clerical skills, there are many opportunities to help PHM fulfill its mission and visitation in the community. Let us know your skills and availability. We need your help.
